Tipo 61 besonders erfolgreich ein: Beim 1.000-km-Rennen auf dem N\u00fcrburgring im Mai 1960 gewannen Stirling Moss und Dan Gurney mit der Startnummer 5 bei str\u00f6mendem Regen gegen h\u00e4rteste Konkurrenz. Nur ein Jahr sp\u00e4ter weiderholte das Camoradi-Team (Casner Motor Racing Division) das gleiche Kunstst\u00fcck mit den Fahrern Casner\/Gregory.
