In 1966, Ferrari launched a new version of the 275 GTB and designated this series the 275 GTB/C (C for Competizione). Twelve 275 GTB/C cars were built by Ferrari's racing department in Maranello, eight of them, including chassis 09051, were equipped with left-hand drive.

History of the original Ferrari 275 GTB/C #98 chassis

“The sixth of 12 Ferrari 275 GTB/Cs built went to the Gooding Peabble Beach auction and was estimated at around $12 million to $16 million.”.

The above headline attracted a lot of attention on 20 July 2017. It referred to the upcoming auction of Ferrari GTB/C Chassis 09051, a racing car that was described as “one of the best Ferrari Berlinettas ever”.

In 1966, Ferrari launched a new competition version of the 275 GTB and designated this series the 275 GTB/C (C for Competizione). Twelve 275 GTB/C cars were built by Ferrari's racing department in Maranello, eight of them, including chassis 09051, were equipped with left-hand drive.

Delivered on 12 June 1966, chassis 09051 successfully took part in more than 20 races between 1966 and 1970. In the hands of its first two owners, Renzo Sinidaldi and Alberto Federici, the car won numerous class and overall victories. Chassis 09051 was awarded second place at the Pebble Beech Concours d'Elegance 2007. At the 2017 auction, chassis 09051 was finally sold for 14,520,000 US dollars.

CMC is modelling this high-performance racing car in its original version in silver metallic with the starting number 98 - exactly as the original vehicle looked in its first race and at the 2017 auction.
