With an uncompromising focus on pure performance, this sports car deliberately omits power steering, brake assistance, and ABS. In return, the F50 benefits from highly advanced composite materials, as well as construction and aerodynamic techniques from professional motorsport.

The production figure resulted from a market analysis that predicted a worldwide demand of 350 vehicles. True to Enzo Ferrari's philosophy – that the perfect production number should always be exactly one unit below market demand – production was ultimately limited to 349 units.
