BBR Ferrari FX 1995 – Metallic Blue | 1:18

At the direct request of the Sultan of Brunei's nephew, the technical vision for an exclusive Ferrari with an automatic transmission arose in the 1990s. The Ferrari Testarossa served as the construction basis. For the implementation, the renowned coachbuilder Pininfarina collaborated with motorsport and technology specialists from Prodrive, who already possessed extensive know-how in transmission development.

To integrate the complex electronics and new switchgear into the vehicle's architecture, the radiator had to be relocated to the front. The engine underwent a targeted performance increase, while the exhaust system was profoundly modified and the catalytic converters removed. Externally, too, the vehicle clearly distanced itself from the Testarossa: the completely redesigned carbon fibre body – a still rare and highly exclusive material in automotive construction at the time – is characterised by softer, more modern, and very elegant lines. The result of this sophisticated custom build is the historic Ferrari FX.
