An exceptional project in automotive history began with a special request from the Royal House of Brunei: a modified high-performance vehicle that was to be equipped with an automatic transmission. To achieve this technical requirement, Pininfarina collaborated with motorsport specialists Prodrive, using the established Testarossa platform.

The integration of the new gearbox technology and complex electronics necessitated profound design changes. Thus, the radiator was moved to the front of the vehicle, while the engine received a power increase and the exhaust system was completely redesigned without catalytic converters. The vehicle also underwent a comprehensive transformation on the outside. The body was made entirely of carbon – an extremely rare and expensive material in the 1990s. This resulted in softer, modern lines that gave the construction a distinctive, elegant silhouette.
