The Porsche 911 GT3 with the completely revised and now 305 kW (415 hp) 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, which its two predecessors also had, made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2006 and arrived at Porsche Centres in May 2006. The 997 GT3 was advertised by Porsche marketing managers as „The pure doctrine“ and was once again a „real“ GT3 in the eyes of most Porsche enthusiasts, offering only the equipment necessary for the purpose of sporty driving, even if some standard features had now been added compared to its two predecessors, such as the new Porsche Active Suspension. For example, the new Porsche Active Suspension Management chassis (PASM for short), a system for electronic shock absorber adjustment that actively and continuously regulates the damping force for each individual wheel depending on the driving situation and driving style.
