Description
Amalgam Ferrari 250
The late-1950s Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, with its Scaglietti-designed „pontoon fender“ bodywork, is considered one of the most aesthetic and successful racing cars in automotive history. To pay fitting tribute to this iconic design, this sculpture was created as an exact 1:4 scale replica of the body.
The imposing collector's item measures around one metre in length, weighs approximately five kilograms and is elaborately handcrafted. Just like the original in 1957, aluminium panels are rolled, panel-beaten and fitted over a precisely milled wooden buck using traditional coachbuilding methods. The shape of this framework is based on high-precision CAD data obtained by digitally scanning a historic 250 Testa Rossa. The bare, hammered aluminium surface is deliberately left unpainted to make the technical authenticity of the material and the traces of the manual craftsmanship visible in their purest form.
The artwork, limited to just 25 pieces worldwide, is presented on a custom-made walnut frame that underlines the exclusive character of this exceptional model-making work.
