The Ferrari 296 Speciale features a highly sophisticated „Extra Boost“ control strategy, which deliberately uses the capabilities of the electric drive system to temporarily retrieve maximum performance. This boost function, which is exclusively available in the „Qualify“ setting of the eManettino, delivers a significant surge of power when accelerating out of corners and thus contributes significantly to the reduction of lap times.

A curved display on the instrument panel, positioned directly to the right of the rev counter, precisely informs the driver about the remaining energy reserve of the boost system. The technical efficiency is particularly evident on the racetrack: in Fiorano, for example, the extra boost can be deployed 14 times spread over two laps. On the Mugello Circuit, the control electronics even allow 15 activations within a single lap.
