The Ferrari 296 Speciale features a technologically advanced extra-boost strategy that selectively uses the capabilities of the electric drive system to provide a brief surge of additional power. This function is active exclusively in the „Qualify“ eManettino setting. Its primary purpose is to generate a significant power boost when accelerating out of corners and to precisely reduce lap times.

A curved indicator on the dashboard, located to the right of the rev counter, continuously informs the driver of the remaining energy reserve. The efficiency of this system is demonstrated concretely under real road conditions: on the Fiorano circuit, for example, the extra boost can be deployed 14 times within two laps, while the control system in Mugello allows a total of 15 power impulses on a single lap.
