Amalgam Bentley Blower 1930 Le Mans Birkin & Chassagne Race Weathered – Green | 1:8
With its characteristic supercharged engine, this British racing car shaped the pre-war era and continues to fascinate motorsport enthusiasts worldwide to this day. At the 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans, car number 9, driven by Sir Henry „Tim“ Birkin and Jean Chassagne, delivered an unforgettable and still-celebrated duel on the track.
This 1:8 scale model, limited to just 30 examples worldwide, accurately reproduces that historic Le Mans racing car. The special Race Weathered Edition was meticulously hand-painted by master model makers in Bristol and finished with authentic dirt and weathering effects to precisely document the harsh racing conditions on the Circuit de la Sarthe. Developed over 4,500 hours with around 450 hours of manual assembly time per piece, a highly detailed miniature was created from thousands of precisely manufactured individual parts. Complex castings, delicate photo-etchings and CNC-machined metal components ensure absolute authenticity.
The construction is based on original CAD data, which was developed using a 3D scan of an original vehicle alongside historical drawings and specifications from Bentley Motors. The opening bonnet reveals the intricately replicated 4.5-litre supercharged engine, while the open cockpit and chassis also impress with the highest precision. The officially licensed model comes with a giclée archival print showing the vehicle during a pit stop in the historic race.
Note: Due to the intricately applied patina, the model is delicate and should be handled with great care and in accordance with the enclosed instructions.
