Amalgam Bugatti Type 35 (1926) 1:8
The Bugatti Type 35, quite simply the most successful racing car of all time, won the Grand Prix World Championship in 1926 after winning 351 races in 1924 and 1925 and setting 47 records. The Type 35 proved to be particularly successful at the Targa Florio, winning the Sicilian race five years in a row from 1925 to 1929. In 1929, the Type 35 was still so relevant that William Grover-Williams won the first Monaco Grand Prix with such a car - a success that was repeated by René Dreyfus in 1930. This example shows Bartolomeo „Meo“ Costantini's winning car at the 70th edition of the Targa Florio in 1926, where Bugatti dominated with a one-two-three victory. Costantini, a close friend of Ettore Bugatti, ended his racing career at the end of 1926 and took over the management of Ettore Bugatti's racing team.
