Amalgam Bugatti Veyron W16 Engine and Gearbox (2005) | 1:4

In 2005, the Bugatti Veyron revolutionised the automotive world, setting completely new standards for road-legal supercars with its 8.0-litre W16 engine. The world's only 16-cylinder powerplant installed in a production vehicle delivered over 1,000 PS and enabled speeds in excess of 400 km/h.

This exact replica of the W16 engine including transmission in an impressive 1:4 scale was painstakingly handcrafted by a small team of specialist model makers. The model, measuring over 45 centimetres in length and 28 centimetres in width, is based directly on the original CAD data and material specifications from the Bugatti design studio. More than 3,500 hours went into the development of this collector's item, which is limited to just 199 pieces worldwide, whilst the assembly of each individual example takes over 325 hours.

The complex construction consists of thousands of precisely manufactured individual parts, including high-quality cast components, photo-etched parts and CNC-machined metal elements. Special finishing processes ensure that the different material surfaces of the original engine are reproduced absolutely authentically in the model – right down to tiny, scale-accurate component labels and barcodes. Finally, the model was rigorously inspected by the engineers and designers at Bugatti to guarantee uncompromising technical precision.
