Description

Amalgam Ferrari 250 GTO V12 Engine and Gearbox | 1:4

The legendary 3.0-litre V12 engine, named after its designer Gioacchino Colombo, is considered one of the most significant power units in automotive history. In combination with its five-speed gearbox, it powered the iconic Ferrari 250 GTO and significantly shaped the brand's myth through its power delivery and reliability.

This exact 1:4 scale replica of the Ferrari Tipo 168 Comp V12 Colombo engine presents the mechanical sophistication of the original in uncompromising detail. Limited to just 250 examples worldwide, the collector's item measures over 32 centimetres in length and was created in close collaboration with the historians at Ferrari Classiche. The basis was formed by high-precision CAD data obtained from a digital scan of the original engine of chassis 3987GT. The elaborate development of this model took over 3,500 hours, while the meticulous assembly of each individual piece by a small team of experts requires more than 325 hours.

From thousands of precisely crafted individual parts – including complex castings, fine photo-etched parts and CNC-machined metal components – the engine is assembled by hand. Every material and surface finish, from the striking red valve covers to the smallest type plates, has been strictly reproduced according to Ferrari's historical colour codes and specifications. The final prototype model underwent rigorous inspection and was certified for its authentic representation only after complete approval by Ferrari.
