Description

Amalgam Ferrari 250 LM 1965 Le Mans Winner Race Weathered – Red | 1:8

In 1965, in the hands of Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt for the North American Racing Team (NART), the Ferrari 250 LM secured an unexpected yet legendary overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It was the final triumph for a Ferrari prototype at the Sarthe in a historic duel against the favoured Ford GT40s.

This 1:8 scale model, strictly limited to just 21 examples worldwide, depicts the winning car with race number 21 in the exclusive Weathered Edition of from. Artisans in Bristol have precisely and completely applied the patina, grime and signs of wear from the 24-hour marathon by hand based on historical archive footage. This highly detailed collector's item is based on digital scans of the original chassis 6321 as well as authentic paint codes and archive images from Scuderia Ferrari.

The model consists of thousands of precision-engineered individual parts, including complex castings, photo-etched parts and CNC-machined metal components. The doors, boot and engine cover can be fully opened, revealing the faithfully reproduced interior and the 3.3-litre V12 engine. The development of the base model took over 4,500 hours, while the construction and detailed weathering of each individual piece require a further 450 hours of work.

As an officially licensed product of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the model comes with a high-quality A1-format giclée print. The photograph selected by Amalgam, taken by Rainer Schlegelmilch, shows the original car during the final hours of the 1965 race.

Handling instructions: The hand-applied weathering effects are extremely delicate. To preserve the authentic racing patina, the model should be handled as little as possible and under no circumstances cleaned or wiped.
