Officially licensed 24 Hours of Le Mans race
This is the number 14 car in which Phil Hill and Peter Collins won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1958. Six of these Testa Rossas took part in the 1958 edition of this mighty race, including three works cars and three privateers. Knowing that Sebring is notorious (even today) for being a high-wear circuit, Hill and Collins decided before the race not to run at ten tenths in the early stages in order to preserve both the car's brakes and gearbox. In the first hour, they were in fourth place, then dropped back to fifth and kept this position for the next three hours. In the fifth hour, both Astons experienced a gearbox problem and before the halfway mark, the number 14 car took the lead. With 200 laps, 1,677 kilometres and an average speed of 149 km/h, this car established the all-new Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa as the main contender for the year's sports car championship with its second consecutive win in the series.
This beautiful 1:8 scale model of the Ferrari 250 TR has been handcrafted and finished in our workshops in collaboration and with the support of the historians of the Automotive Club de L'Quest and Ferrari Classiche in terms of original finishes, materials, archive images and drawings. By using extremely accurate digital scans of the original car, we were able to perfectly replicate every detail in scale. In addition, it has undergone detailed scrutiny by Ferrari's engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation.
