Description

Amalgam Jaguar D-type 1956 Reims Winner – Green | 1:8

The Jaguar D-Type was engineered in the 1950s with the clear objective of winning endurance races. This 1:8 scale model precisely replicates chassis XKD 605 in the specification of 30 June 1956, with which Duncan Hamilton and Ivor Bueb won the 12 Hours of Reims.

The miniature, limited to 199 examples worldwide, measures over 55 centimetres in length and is assembled by hand by a specialised team in more than 400 hours. The construction was preceded by a development phase lasting over 4,000 hours. The model is composed of thousands of precisely manufactured individual parts, including true-to-scale cast components, fine photo-etched parts and CNC-machined metal elements. The bonnet, doors and boot can be fully opened, revealing the detailed engine mechanics and the interior.

The construction is based on original CAD data obtained through a precise digital scan of the historic chassis. In close collaboration with Jaguar Heritage, who provided original paint codes and archival material, the vehicle has been accurately recreated in its original colour scheme. This creates a historically and technically highly precise reproduction of the original racing car.
