Amalgam McLaren M23 1976 Japanese Grand Prix James Hunt – Red / White | 1:18
The McLaren M23D shaped one of the most dramatic seasons in Formula 1 history. At the rain-soaked Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji Speedway on 24 October 1976, James Hunt secured his first and only World Drivers' Championship with a third-place finish in this exact car.
This exclusive 1:18 scale model was developed in close collaboration with McLaren Racing and the estate of James Hunt. A small team of highly specialised model makers handcrafts each individual piece with precision. The development time for this project exceeded 800 hours to ensure uncompromising authenticity. The basis for this is original CAD data, created through digital scans of a real vehicle and supplemented with original paint and material specifications from McLaren.
The model, measuring over 22 centimetres in length, impresses with precisely manufactured components. Finest cast parts, detailed photo-etchings and CNC-machined metal elements combine to create a true-to-scale miniature. To ensure absolute dimensional accuracy, the prototype underwent rigorous checks by McLaren's engineering and design teams.
Note: This collector's item is a classic curbside model with a closed body that has no moving parts.
