The historic triumph at the 1955 British Grand Prix at Aintree marked a golden hour of motor sport, when Sir Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio drove this vehicle to a dominant quadruple victory. With its state-of-the-art technology, such as pioneering direct petrol injection and desmodromic valve gear, the single-seater dominated the 1954 and 1955 Formula 1 seasons at will.
Over 4,500 hours of development time this 1:8 scale precision model has been constructed with unprecedented attention to detail. The construction of each individual example by a small team of specialised model makers takes more than 400 hours takes. Consisting of thousands of precisely manufactured individual parts, the collector's item features fine castings, delicate photo-etched parts and CNC-machined metal components. Thanks to highly accurate digital scans of the original vehicle as well as the original design drawings from Mercedes-Benz, every mechanical and visual detail has been authentically reproduced.
Manufacturing was carried out in close collaboration with the engineering and design teams at Mercedes-Benz to ensure the highest technical accuracy of the materials, paints and surface textures. Worldwide, this edition is limited to just 196 copies strictly limited and captures the racing specifications of the 1955 British Grand Prix in absolute museum quality.
