Amalgam Mercedes-Benz W196 Monoposto 1955 British Grand Prix Winner Moss Race Weathered – Silver | 1:8
In the 1955 Formula 1 season, this single-seater dominated the competition and secured a historic victory at the British Grand Prix under Sir Stirling Moss. It was a technological milestone that underlined the absolute superiority of the Silver Arrows in this era.
This exclusive model in an imposing 1:8 scale is limited to just five examples worldwide and precisely captures the condition of the car as it crossed the finish line. Developed over more than 4,500 hours based on original design drawings and historical photographs from Mercedes-Benz, a highly precise replica was created. Measuring over 50 centimetres in length, this work of art consists of thousands of the finest components, including precisely cast parts, photo-etched details and CNC-machined metal elements.
In over 450 hours of handcraftsmanship, each model is assembled by a small team of specialists and then painstakingly weathered in Bristol. These faithful traces of ageing and dirt are applied precisely using archival footage, making every single piece completely unique. The collector's item is accompanied by a high-quality giclée art print from the Motorsport Images collection, documenting the moment the car crossed the finish line in 1955.
Handling instructions: The delicate patinations are extremely fragile. In order not to damage the authentic racing effects, the model should be handled as little as possible and under no circumstances wiped or cleaned.
