Description

Amalgam Porsche 550 RS Spyder ‚Little Bastard‘ (1955) James Dean Figure Edition – Silver | 1:8

Chassis 550-0055, better known as „Little Bastard“, achieved worldwide fame as the vehicle of Hollywood legend James Dean. Tragically, the story of this vehicle came to an end just days after its purchase, when Dean was killed in a crash on his way to a race in Salinas in September 1955.

This exclusive 1:8 scale collector's edition is limited to just 30 pieces worldwide and includes a roughly 21-centimetre-tall, hand-painted driver figure of James Dean. The sculpture was digitally modelled in Venice, produced using 3D printing and painted with the utmost precision.

The car model is the result of over 4,000 hours of development work and is based on high-precision digital scans of the original 550 chassis as well as historical paint codes and archival images from the manufacturer. Each individual model is assembled by experienced model makers in over 400 hours of handcraft. It consists of thousands of scale individual parts, including fine photo-etched parts, exact cast components and CNC-machined metal elements.

Mechanical authenticity: The doors, engine cover and boot can be fully opened, providing a detailed view of the vehicle's highly complex mechanics. The final sign-off by Porsche's engineering and design team guarantees an exact historical and technical reproduction to the highest standard of perfection.
