Amalgam Tyrrell 003 1971 British Grand Prix – Blue | 1:8
The Elf Team Tyrrell 003 heavily shaped the 1971 Formula One season and secured Jackie Stewart his second World Drivers' Championship as well as the team the Constructors' Championship. This model accurately depicts the winning car with which Stewart competed and dominated at the British Grand Prix in Silverstone on 17 July 1971.
Crafted in a strictly limited edition of just 99 pieces worldwide, this 1:8 scale model represents an outstanding example of engineering precision. Measuring over 52 centimetres in length, each chassis is completely assembled by hand by a small team of specialist model makers in over 450 hours. The prototype development alone took more than 4,500 hours. This was based on original CAD data obtained through a high-resolution scan of the original chassis 003 in direct collaboration with the Tyrrell family.
The finished vehicle consists of thousands of precisely engineered individual parts. High-quality cast components, fine photo-etched parts and CNC-machined metal elements combine to create an absolutely authentic replica. The result is a highly detailed representation, the structural and visual accuracy of which is confirmed by rigorous quality control as well as official licensing from Team Tyrrell Racing.
