The extraordinary history of chassis number 3589 began in 1962, the year of its completion and delivery to its first English owner. Following an exceptionally successful motorsport season, the vehicle was acquired by American Tom O’Connor at the end of 1962. In the following months, he achieved numerous podium finishes and continuous success in motorsport before making a remarkable decision in 1964: he donated the car to Victoria High School in Texas.
