BBR Ferrari 250 SWB 24H Le Mans 1960 Car No. 15 Whitehead – Taylor | 1:18

The 1960 24 Hours of Le Mans, also held that year as the 28th Grand Prix d’Endurance de la Sarthe, took place on 25-26 June on the classic 13.5-kilometre circuit. The prospect of a historic duel between Ferrari's 3-litre machines and Porsche's championship-leading 2-litre models attracted around 200,000 spectators to the track to witness Europe's premier endurance race.

To secure the world championship title, Ferrari entered the competition exceptionally well-equipped, fielding a total of 13 cars from works and private teams. The Ferrari 250 GT SWB (Short Wheel Base), which debuted at the 1959 Paris Motor Show, boasts a short but extremely successful motorsport career, notably including memorable appearances at Le Mans in 1960 and 1961. This particular example, with its distinctive green front and race number 15, was driven by pilots Whitehead and Taylor. Unfortunately, the car had to retire from the race prematurely due to engine failure.
