The Ferrari 296 Speciale A – the „A“ stands for Aperta – presents itself as the consistent Spider version in the evolution of the 296 GTB. This model, unveiled in April 2025 concurrently with the coupé variant, features a retractable hardtop that fully preserves the vehicle's flowing lines when open. Conceived as a plug-in hybrid, the sports car is characterised by a significant weight reduction alongside increased system output.

Visually and aerodynamically, the Speciale Edition clearly differentiates itself from the classic GTB. The aerodynamic components, derived directly from the 296 Challenge, include a special front aero-damper, among other things. This directs the airflow specifically from the underbody to the bonnet, effectively stabilising the front axle. At the rear, distinctive side wings reduce air resistance and generate 20 percent more downforce compared to the base model. The drivetrain continues to combine a V6 twin-turbo engine with an MGU-K electric motor. System output has been increased by 50 PS, now reaching an impressive 880 PS.
