At the 2000 Geneva Motor Show, the twentieth road-legal convertible from Maranello was presented to the world. The designers mastered a particular challenge: despite the visible V8 rear engine, a fully automatic and completely retractable soft-top could be realised.

The sports car's aerodynamic efficiency is partly due to the double, separate cooling air openings. These direct the airflow precisely under the vehicle and guide it to the diffusers integrated into the rear end. A high level of passive safety is guaranteed by two robust roll-over bars behind the headrests. Another technical highlight is the use of aluminium as the structural material for the chassis.

This specific model variant documents the version with an automatic transmission and is also equipped with the characteristic Challenge rear grille, which authentically underlines the sporty technical basis of the original.
