Description
BBR Ferrari 410 Superamerica Series III SN 1477 SA – White | 1:18
The original concept was first presented to the public in 1955. It was aimed at an exclusive clientele who wanted to combine the highest driving performance with uncompromising luxury. The Series III, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 1958, represented the final stage of evolution. It marked the technical peak in the development of Aurelio Lampredi's long-block V12 engine for road use. Production ran for a very short period until June 1959, before the car was succeeded by the 400 Superamerica.
Only twelve examples were bodied by Pinin Farina and delivered to select personalities, industrialists, and significant collectors. The chassis with the serial number 1477 SA This belonged to Bill Harrah, a well-known casino magnate and car collector from Reno. While in his possession, the car, originally delivered in white, was later repainted red and modified with a single-plate clutch and disc brakes. Harrah demonstrated the construction's long-distance capabilities and high touring speed by covering the distance from Reno to Las Vegas – approximately 680 kilometres – in just three hours and forty-five minutes, including refuelling stops.
