Description
BBR Ferrari 410 Superamerica Series III SN 1495 SA – Ruby Red | 1:18
The 410 Superamerica was first presented in 1955 and was aimed at an elite clientele demanding the highest driving performance combined with uncompromising luxury. The Series III, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 1958, represented the final stage of evolution for this model. It also marked the peak in the development of Aurelio Lampredi's long-block V12 engine for road use. Production ended after a very short run in June 1959, after which the model was replaced by the 400 Superamerica.
Only 12 examples of the Series III were manufactured. All bodies came from Pinin Farina and were delivered to an extremely small, wealthy circle of industrialists, personalities, and significant collectors.
This specific model is an exact replica of the vehicle with chassis number 1495 SA. It is the only car in this series to feature both a leather-clad dashboard and heater casing. The vehicle's history documents that the original purchaser, Detroit car dealer Bill Markley, requested a roof raised by 2.5 centimetres due to his height. However, as the bodywork was already completed at this point, this special request was politely but firmly rejected by the factory.
