BBR Ferrari 499P 24h Le Mans 2026 Car No. 50 | 1:12
At the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, the factory Ferrari AF Corse 499P, with car number 50, experienced an unexpected and premature end. Piloted by the experienced crew of Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina, the hypercar initially engaged in close position battles with its sister cars at the front of the field.
Around the ninth hour of the long-distance classic, the tables turned. Nielsen had to bring the car in for a pit stop from fifth position. The cause was an unusual problem with the onboard fire extinguishing system, which subsequently led to a massive and unsolvable electronic failure. The engineering team worked hard on the repair, replacing the electronic control unit (ECU). This extensive measure cost nearly 30 minutes of track time and dashed all realistic hopes of a podium finish.
Ultimately, the defect proved irreversible, forcing the vehicle to be retired permanently after completing only 155 laps. This bitter retirement (DNF) ended the race for car number 50 at Le Mans long before the chequered flag. This collector's model in an impressive 1:12 scale documents a piece of authentic racing history and precisely reflects the technical subtleties of the original down to the smallest detail.
