BBR Ferrari 499P Car No. 50 24h Le Mans 2026 | 1:18
At the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, the factory-entered Ferrari 499P Hypercar, car number 50, driven by Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina, competed. However, the race ended prematurely for the winners of previous editions. After a close battle with its sister cars, fortunes turned around the ninth hour of the race.
Nicklas Nielsen was forced to bring the car into the pits from fifth position. The cause was an unusual problem with the onboard fire suppression system, which subsequently led to a massive and unresolvable electronic fault. The engineering team attempted to salvage the situation by replacing the engine control unit (ECU). This lengthy repair cost almost thirty minutes of track time and dashed all hopes of a podium finish. Ultimately, the damage proved irreparable. The car came to a definitive halt after completing 155 laps, forcing the crew of car number 50 to officially retire (DNF) and ending their Le Mans campaign well before the chequered flag fell.
