BBR Ferrari 499P Car No. 51 – 24h Le Mans 2026 | 1:12
In the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans race, the Ferrari AF Corse 499P Hypercar, entry number 51, faced an extremely demanding challenge. The reigning world champions Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi delivered a remarkable driving performance under difficult conditions. An incident occurred in the early hours of the race when Pier Guidi lost control and, with the Proton Competition Vehicle number 9 collided, resulting in a drive-through penalty.
Although the vehicle's structure and mechanics remained intact and the prototype ran absolutely reliably throughout the night, the time penalty and a slight deficit in race pace prevented a direct fight for the top podium places. Nevertheless, the drivers accelerated the race car to a documented top speed of 351.8 km/h. Through highly efficient pit stop strategies, the team continuously fought its way back through the field over the course of the race. After completing 381 laps, car number 51 finally crossed the finish line in fifth place overall, just around two minutes and 22 seconds behind the winning competitor.
