Description
BBR Ferrari 550 Barchetta 2000 – Black DS | 1:18
The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, presented in 2000, is a limited special edition developed as a tribute to Ferrari's tradition of open-top V12 sports cars. At the same time, the vehicle celebrates the 70th anniversary of the collaboration between Ferrari and the design house Pininfarina. The technical foundation is provided by the Berlinetta introduced in 1996, the Ferrari 550 Maranello.
Unlike classic barchetta models with minimal windscreens, this vehicle features a conventional full-height windscreen and a manual soft-top roof. The silhouette is also characterised by two distinctive, rigidly integrated roll-over bars behind the seats' headrests. The historical significance and exclusivity of the car are also evident in the prominent first owners of the original vehicles, which included racing drivers such as Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine.
The model accurately reproduces the characteristic lines of the original. Special attention is paid to the authentic replication of the beige interior, which forms an elegant contrast to the dark body paintwork.
