Description
BBR Ferrari 550 Barchetta 2000 – Modena Yellow | 1:18
The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, introduced in 2000, is a limited special edition created as a tribute to the tradition of great open-top sports cars from Maranello. At the same time, the vehicle celebrates the 70th anniversary of the successful collaboration between Ferrari and the coachbuilder Pininfarina. The technical basis is provided by the Ferrari 550 Maranello Berlinetta, presented in 1996.
Unlike some historical Barchetta models, which were characterised by very low or entirely absent windscreens, this vehicle features a conventional full-height windscreen and a manual fabric roof. Also striking are the two seamlessly integrated and prominently placed rollover bars behind the headrests of the seats. The particular history of this model is also underscored by its prominent initial ownership, which included, among others, former racing drivers Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine.
