Description
BBR Ferrari 550 Barchetta 2000 – Red | 1:18
The Ferrari 550 Barchetta Pininfarina, introduced in 2000, is an exclusive, limited special edition. The vehicle pays homage to the great tradition of open-top Ferrari sports cars while simultaneously celebrating the 70th anniversary of the successful collaboration between Ferrari and Pininfarina. The technical basis is provided by the Ferrari 550 Maranello, which was presented in 1996.
Unlike historic Barchetta models, which often had very low or no windscreens, the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is equipped with a conventional full-height screen and a manual soft-top. A striking design detail of the bodywork is the two fixed roll-over hoops, which are prominently positioned behind the headrests of the seats.
The historical significance of this sports car is underscored by the fact that well-known figures from the world of motorsport, including Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine, were among the owners of this model. A precisely crafted collector's item that combines authentic vehicle history and first-class model-making artistry.
