The sports car, launched in 2002, represents a consistent evolution of its predecessor. The letter „M“ in the nomenclature stands for „Modificata“ and refers to profound technical and structural revisions. The design, penned by Pininfarina, retains the muscular lines of the series but incorporates specific functional innovations. These include, among other features, redesigned front air intakes that ensure optimised cooling for the engine and braking system, and give the front end a more striking appearance.

One of the key innovations of this generation was the option of an electro-hydraulic F1 gearbox, the control technology of which was directly derived from Formula 1 race cars of the time. The collector's model presented here, manufactured in Italy, precisely reflects the original specification in the historic Verde Zeltweg paintwork and is completed by a true-to-life replica of the interior in the classic Cuoio shade.
