BBR Ferrari 599 GTO Fiorano Art Car Lu Hao Cracked Porcelain | 1:18

On 3 November 2009, a special one-off from Maranello was auctioned for two million US dollars to a collector in China. Chinese artist Lu Hao refined this twelve-cylinder Berlinetta with motifs inspired by historical Ge kiln porcelain from the Song Dynasty. The crackle pattern connects traditional East Asian design elements with the modern lines of the car. The visual cracks in the porcelain, which are considered a symbol of virtue in Chinese culture, were reproduced exactly.

To realistically reproduce the structure of this surface in 1:18 scale, an intricate water transfer printing process was used instead of classic decals. This technique allows for a precise representation of the characteristic cracks at different depths.

The flagship vehicle was the manufacturer's most powerful production sports car at the time of its presentation in 2006 and honours the company's own test track in Fiorano with its name suffix. The collector's model is presented on a faux leather base and protected by a display case made of injection-moulded Plexiglas manufactured in Italy. Specially designed packaging from the company's own graphic department in Saronno complements this limited edition.
