Description
BBR Ferrari 599 GTO 2010 – Burgundy with Gold Stripe | 1:18
The Ferrari 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) was unveiled in 2010 as a road-legal version of the exclusive 599XX track car and is one of the most distinctive models in the manufacturer's recent history. Worldwide production was strictly limited to exactly 599 units.
During development, a consistent weight reduction compared to the standard 599 GTB model was the focus. This was achieved through the use of thinner glass and the targeted use of aluminium and carbon fibre on the bodywork. The interior also features Alcantara, special 3D fabric, and lightweight carbon fibre racing seats, designed for uncompromising lightweight construction.
A significant technical innovation was the „wheel doughnuts“ derived from Formula 1. These special discs on the outside of the braking system reduce aerodynamic drag and efficiently direct hot exhaust air away from the brakes. Visually, the 599 GTO also often differed from the more classic design of the GTB Fiorano with a matte black roof and matte trim elements.
