The 2010 Ferrari 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) is considered one of the brand's most significant modern vehicles, developed as a road-legal version of the 599XX, which was designed for the racetrack. Only 599 units of this exclusive vehicle were produced worldwide.

In the construction, a consistent weight reduction compared to the standard 599 GTB model was the focus. This was achieved through the use of thinner glass, aluminium and carbon fibre body parts, as well as an interior with Alcantara, special 3D fabric and carbon racing seats. One of the most striking technical innovations are the derived from Formula 1 Doughnut Wheels – aerodynamic covers on the outside of the brake discs, which reduce air resistance and efficiently dissipate hot exhaust air.

Numerous versions of the 599 GTO were also distinguished by a characteristic matte black roof and matte accents, which visually set the model clearly apart from the more classic GTB variant Fiorano.
