Description
BBR Ferrari Dino 246 GTS 1972 – Sera Blue | 1:18
Following the 1969 debut of the Ferrari Dino 246 GT, there was a need to supplement the model with an open-top Spider variant. At the 1972 Geneva Motor Show, the new Dino 246 GTS was unveiled to the public and immediately met with a positive reception. Its success is reflected in the production figures: out of approximately 4,000 examples of the series produced, 1,200 left the factory as Spiders.
Technically, the Dino 246 brought extensive modifications compared to its predecessor, the 206 GT. The most important change was found in the engine bay: instead of aluminium, the engine block was now made entirely of cast iron.
The most striking features of the 246 GTS include the removable targa roof and the distinctive Daytona-style seats. Their elaborate craftsmanship is characterised by the precise reproduction of the numerous, fine leather stripes of the original. The model captures these complex details and also features a true-to-original interior in Tortora colour.
