Description
BBR Ferrari Dino 246 GTS 1972 with Roof – Dino Red – Black | 1:18
Following the debut of the Ferrari Dino 246 GT in 1969, there arose a need to complement the vehicle with an open-top Spider version. At the 1972 Geneva Motor Show, the new arrival was positively received by automotive experts. The success of the concept is reflected in the production figures: out of approximately 4,000 units of the 246 series built, a considerable 1,200 units were the Spider variant.
Compared to its predecessor, the 206 GT, the Ferrari Dino 246 featured significant technical modifications. The engine bay, in particular, saw extensive changes: the engine block material was switched from aluminium to robust cast iron.
A characteristic feature of the original is the removable roof, as well as the exclusive Daytona-style seats, whose complex craftsmanship consists of many fine leather strips. Thumbnail note With this precise collector's model, the roof is permanently installed and cannot be removed.
