BBR Ferrari FX 1995 – Modena Yellow | 1:18

At the request of the Royal Family of Brunei, the vision of an exclusive, custom-built vehicle with an automatic transmission arose in the mid-1990s. The Ferrari Testarossa served as the technical basis for this historic project. For its realisation, the design house Pininfarina collaborated closely with British specialist Prodrive, who brought the necessary expertise for the complex drivetrain conversion.

To integrate the bespoke vehicle electronics and the novel gearbox into the chassis, the radiator was relocated to the front of the car. Simultaneously, the engine underwent a profound overhaul to increase its power, while the exhaust system was modified and liberated from its catalytic converters. Visually, the car also distanced itself significantly from its Testarossa base: the body was completely manufactured from carbon fibre – a high-tech material that was an absolute rarity in road vehicle construction at that time. Flowing, softly drawn lines gave the car a completely new design language. The result of this unique development work went down in the brand's history as the Ferrari FX.
