BBR Ferrari FX 1995 – Grey | 1:18
At the special request of those around the Brunei royal family, a highly complex special project was created in the mid-1990s: a sports car with an automatic transmission that was unusual for the time. The proven architecture of the Testarossa served as the technical basis. For the demanding implementation, the renowned design house Pininfarina collaborated with the British motorsport specialist Prodrive, who contributed their extensive expertise in the field of power transmission.
To integrate the new gearbox technology and associated electronics into the existing layout, extensive modifications to the chassis were necessary. The radiator was relocated to the front of the vehicle to create valuable space at the rear. The V12 engine benefited from a targeted increase in performance, accompanied by a completely revised exhaust system without catalytic converters. Bodywork construction at the highest level: Visually, the vehicle also stood out clearly from its base. A completely redesigned carbon fibre body – a material that was extremely rare in road vehicle construction at the time – characterised the appearance with soft, flowing and modern lines. The result is an automotive one-off of high technical and historical relevance.
