Scuderia Ferrari celebrated their first win of the season with the British driver, taking his career victory count to 106. Exactly 30 years prior, in 1996, Michael Schumacher achieved his first win for Ferrari at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Starting from the front row, Hamilton won the race through precise tyre management and an excellent strategy. The decisive moment occurred on lap 40: a Virtual Safety Car period, triggered by an incident involving Fernando Alonso, prevented overtakes. Hamilton used this phase for his final pit stop and, with his tyres in optimal condition, successfully defended against attacks from the Mercedes drivers.
