Description
BBR Porsche 936/81 Turbo 24 H. Le Mans 1981 Winner Bell/Ickx No. 11 | 1:18
The 1981 24 Hours of Le Mans marked the 49th Grand Prix d’Endurance and took place on 13 and 14 June on the traditional Circuit de la Sarthe. The race served as the eighth round of the then Sports Car World Championship and brought about significant changes to the regulations. The engine capacity limit for Group 6 vehicles of 3000 cm³ was lifted, and furthermore, an engine change was permitted up until immediately before the start of the race.
These historical adjustments prompted the work team to make an official return to Sarthe, following a rather limited presence the previous year. The decision proved to be strategically excellent: the entered vehicle, car number 11, driven by the experienced duo Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx, dominated the endurance race with authority. In the end, there was a convincing overall victory, marking another milestone in motorsport history.
This exact collector's model faithfully reproduces the winning vehicle of the two legends. Special emphasis has been placed on historical authenticity, from the specific aerodynamic body shape of the 1981 version to the precisely recreated racing decals from the 24-hour race.
