Description
BBR Porsche 936/81 Turbo 24h Le Mans 1981 Mass-Schuppan-Haywood No. 12 | 1:18
The 1981 24 Hours of Le Mans marked the 49th Grand Prix d’Endurance and took place on 13th and 14th June on the historic Circuit de la Sarthe. The race was the eighth round of that year's World Sportscar Championship. Significant changes to the technical and sporting regulations characterised this edition: the previous engine capacity limit for Group 6 vehicles of 3000 cm³ was abolished, and an engine change was now permitted right up until the start.
These extensive modifications prompted Porsche, after three previous defeats and only a partial presence the year before, to return to Le Mans in full force as an official works team. The current model precisely replicates the Porsche 936/81 Turbo starting with number 12. Piloted by the driver trio Mass, Schuppan and Haywood, this race car achieved 12th place overall. A precise and historically authentic miniature for discerning collectors of historic motorsport.
