Description
CMC Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B engine with display case
At the heart of every successful sports car is a powerful and reliable engine. In our case, we are talking about the power unit of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B.
His well-known designer Vittorio Jano used the lightweight construction method for the eight-cylinder in-line engine and designed the crankcase from two light metal blocks with four cylinders each. With this design principle, the camshaft drive was shifted to the centre of the engine via a gear train. This meant that the length of the camshaft could also be halved, resulting in a very torsionally rigid and stable component strength. Each of the two cylinder blocks was fuelled by a Roots supercharger.
The engine unit presented here in an attractive and dust-protected acrylic display case will enrich the CMC engine series launched by CMC and set a further exclamation mark for the individual modelling artistry of CMC.
