Description of the original vehicle:

August Horch founded A. Horch & Cie. in 1899; in 1932, Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer merged to form Auto Union. The four rings of the logo symbolise the union of the companies.
The Audi 920 was particularly popular with individualists and sporty drivers. Designed and assembled by Horch, the vehicle, which was delivered from December 1938, featured the Auto Union's typical modular features of the late 1930s. The Audi was only available in two body versions as standard: the saloon produced by the Horch factories themselves and the convertible produced by Gläser in Dresden.
In contrast to its predecessor, the Audi Front, the 920 was again equipped with rear-wheel drive.
The car, which was extremely modern for its time and is still beautiful today, quickly attracted an exclusive group of buyers and could have firmly established the Audi brand in the high-end market segment - if the outbreak of the Second World War had not halted its success. Production had to be significantly reduced and finally stopped completely in April 1940: The end of a glorious brand, which was, however, able to celebrate a much-noticed resurrection almost 30 years later.
