Description
CMC Ferrari 250 LM, 2nd place 24H France 1965, #26, chassis 6313, Dumay/Gosselin, RHD,. High-quality collector's model in 1:18 scale.
The penultimate Ferrari 250 LM built, chassis 6313, was sold new to the Ecurie Francorchamps. The car was painted yellow and was used in racing throughout the 1965 season. It achieved its best result at Le Mans, where Pierre Dumay and Gustave Gosselin finished second behind the sister car of the North American Racing Team. In the 1970s, the car was owned by David Piper.
The Ferrari 250 LM of Pierre Dumay and Gustave Gosselin was still leading the 1965 24 Hours of Le Mans around four hours before the finish when the right rear wheel exploded on the Hunaudières straight. With the bodywork severely damaged as a result, they made it back to the pits with great difficulty, where the car was then repaired. Due to the long stay in the pits, the lead was gone, but Dumay/Gosselin still finished second.
