CMC Ferrari 375 MM Spider, red, #9 Limited Edition 1500 piecesHigh-quality collector's model in 1:18 scale M-306
The CMC Ferrari 375 MM is a V12 legend of the 1950s. Built for the Mille Miglia with 340 hp and Pinin-Farina bodywork, today it is one of the most exclusive classics. Its power and elegance make it every collector's dream.
Chassis 0382 began its career comfortably on the Cinetti Ferrari stand at the 2nd World Motor Sports Show in New York in January 1954, after which the car was delivered to William Spear in Palm Beach. Spear and Jack Rutherford raced very successfully until February 1955, when the car went to Duncan Black, who also raced it for a long time, until August 1959.
The subsequent owner, Dr George Burke, also kept the car for a relatively long time until it went to Colin Crabbe from England in May '71, but only for five days, after which Joel Finn became the new owner. The 375 MM was presumably not in very good condition at the time, and Finn bought it for USD 2,400. Although no significant renovation work was reported on the car the following year, the selling price nevertheless rose to around four times that amount, paid by Ian Gunn. He offered the Ferrari for sale in 1974 at an advertised price of USD 25,000.
Apparently no-one took up the offer, Gunn died in December 2008 and Keith Duly offered the car instead. Since February 2010, chassis 0382 has belonged to Andreas Mohringer from Salzburg, who uses it extensively at classic car events. Incidentally, chassis 0382 is also one of the cars affected by the various restamping campaigns; it was later restamped to chassis number 0376.
The model represents the condition of the Ferrari 375 MM as it was driven by William Spear at the Savanna Grand Prix on 15 March 1954 with starting number 9; Spear achieved second place in the overall standings and second place in the class classification. At the time, the passenger seat was closed by a cover to improve the aerodynamics; this cover is part of our scope of delivery so that you can represent the model in a prototypical manner.
