The CMC Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (1957-1963) offered normal access, disc brakes and a top speed of 250 km/h thanks to its new frame. With 1,858 cars built, the 215 hp sports car established the legend of the SL series.

The CMC Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is also a masterpiece for us at CMC: this is only the second time that we have developed a model with a functional fabric roof which - true to the original - can be opened and closed. The kinetics of the soft top box cover are true to the original: to close the soft top, the soft top box is opened, the soft top is extended and attached to the front windscreen frame, then the soft top box cover is closed, the soft top is pulled down at the rear and hooked onto the edge of the cover.

We are proud of this precision engineering masterpiece, which also encourages play, and are delighted to be able to present one of the character-defining elements of the 300 SL Roadster in a particularly impressive way. The seats on this CMC Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster are also hinged and the ashtray on the dashboard can be opened. But that's not all: the hubcaps can also be removed easily and without tools.

To open the doors, simply swing out the flush recessed door handles - a solution that was highly futuristic in the 1950s and has only recently come back into fashion.
