Description
CMC Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, 1955, engine with display case The SLR engine was the first to use a cylinder block made of an aluminium alloy. Chrome-coated aluminium was used for the cylinder liners. A gear-driven centre drive, which was arranged between the two four-cylinder engine blocks, served as the power take-off. The elaborate Hirth crankshaft had connecting rods with roller bearings. Like all CMC engine miniatures, the model is true to its role model in every detail and is another highlight of this series. An elegant acrylic glass cover protects the model from dirt and dust.
